Project's investment objectives: Electricity Trading. Contributing to ensuring the capacity compensation for the national electrical system in the coming years. Enhancing the power supply reliability, reducing loss due to long-distance transmission, improving the power quality; contributing to sharing the financial burden for the electricity industry in investment and development of power sources. Meeting environmental standards, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; promoting industries, transportations, and services, and creating more local business opportunities
Scale of the project investment: a) Gas Power Plant: (1) 01 gas power plant using combined cycle gas turbine technology, capacity 1,500 MW; (2) a 500 kV distribution yard ensuring the transmission of the power plant's 1,500 MW capacity; (3) Construction of infrastructure and technical works for power plants, including a cooling water channel, a canal carries the discharge water, a canal carries domestic wastewater, internal roads, and connections with local transport infrastructure. b) LNG ports and depots: (1) an LNG import terminal meeting the scale output through the port of 2.4 million tons of LNG/year: 01 docking station and ancillary items; LNG transport pipeline from the LNG import terminal to the depots meeting the scale output through the port of 2.4 million tons of LNG/year; LNG depots with the capacity of 1.4 million tons per year, with 2 on-land tanks, each tank has a capacity of 100,000 m3; (2) Regasification area for Gas Power Plants with a capacity of 1,500MW. (3) Equipment and ancillary items

Land area: Total area 55.89 ha, including 42.51 ha of land and 13.38 ha of water surface (excluding the water area in front of the wharf, channel, and turning area)
Land use's purpose: Industrial land used to build Quang Ninh gas power plant
Approved planning criteria: Land for construction of power plants and LNG depots: 42.51 ha in which: Area for depots and regasification is 9.74 ha; power plant construction area is 32.77 ha. - The water surface area is 13.38 ha, of which: The area for gas supply and cooling water discharge is 9.56 ha; the LNG port area is 1.45 ha; the area for cooling water supply pipeline is 2.37 ha
