- Project objectives: Project construction investment objectives are gradually to take form the eastern North-South expressway with a large capacity, safety and high speed, meeting transport demand and being suitable to transport development planning and orientation; linking the economic and political centers of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An provinces in particular and the Northern Central region in general.
- Project modules: Construction about 49.30 km of expressway section from Km430+000 to Km479+300. In the completion stage, the expressway has the scale of 6 lanes with the embankment width Bembankment = 32.25m. In the phasing stage, it has the scale of 4 lanes with the embankment width Bembankment = 17m. + Total 32 bridges, including 23 bridges on the expressway, 05 overpasses on the expressway, 3 bridges in the interchange and 01 bridge on the frontage road will be constructed. + 01 tunnel: Than Vu tunnel (right branch tunnel is about 1120m long, left branch tunnel is about 1072m long) will be constructed on the route
